The Yvorra Leadership Development Foundation (YLD) recently received an update from one of our past scholarship recipients, highlighting the lasting impact of YLD’s investment in leadership development.
Stephanie Humberd, a two-time YLD scholarship recipient in 2020 and 2022, continues to build an impressive career in emergency medical services while advancing her leadership skills. Since receiving her scholarships, Humberd has served as an EMS program director, taught EMS courses online, and most recently accepted a position as a paramedic/firefighter with the Town of Bowie, Texas, Fire Department.
“The YLD scholarship allowed me to complete my paramedic education and earn my bachelor’s degree,” Humberd said. “I’ve had incredible experiences, helped many students earn their EMS licenses, and I’m grateful for the scholarship that helped set the foundation for my future.”
In addition to her professional accomplishments, Humberd obtained certification for her dog as a therapy dog. Together, the team visits fire departments, nursing homes and schools, and supports the local Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) team.
Humberd’s next goal is to earn a master’s degree in EMS administration and advance into a supervisory role.
YLD is proud to support Stephanie Humberd’s continued growth and leadership development and looks forward to following her progress in the years ahead.
