In any public safety group, everyone has something to bring to the table including varying personalities. Leadership is creating a healthy environment that will allow yourself and more importantly the team be successful. This all starts by creating a great culture inside and outside the workplace and really putting you, family and teammates first to allow for the organization to run like a well-oiled machine. It means a lot when the organization and the people running theorganization know that the leadership team cares about them and what is happening at work and at home. This exemplifies leadership along with being able to have trust in
one another, the team needs to know you have their back and we as leaders have theirs. We can’t also lead without being in their shoes at one point or another, so we have to know about the jobs, you are asking them to do and support the operations they are completing.
