Support Emerging Leaders this Giving Tuesday
The Yvorra Leadership Development Foundation (YLD) invites your generosity on Giving Tuesday, December 3rd, to help us continue fostering the growth of aspiring and emerging leaders in public safety and emergency services.
About YLD
The Foundation was established in honor of James G. Yvorra, who tragically lost his life in the line of duty on January 29, 1988, while serving as a volunteer with the Berwyn Heights Fire Department and Rescue Squad in Maryland. A dedicated public safety professional, Jim’s legacy includes co-authoring foundational texts like Hazardous Materials: Managing the Incident and producing Fireground Command with Alan Brunacini.
YLD exists to promote leadership development in the fire, hazardous materials, EMS, emergency management, homeland security, and related military communities. Through the years, YLD has funded over $250,000 in scholarships and awards for aspiring leaders.
