Earlier this year, Mike Hildebrand and Greg Noll—founding members of the Yvorra Leadership Development Foundation (YLD)—each received a cancer diagnosis. In the spirit of leadership and service, they chose to openly share their personal health journeys in the hope of inspiring others and encouraging all of us to make health a priority.
From the beginning, they have emphasized a critical message:
Be vigilant. Listen to your body. Schedule regular checkups. Seek medical attention for anything unusual.
Early detection can make all the difference—often improving outcomes and saving lives.
Over the past six months, Mike, President of YLD, and Greg, Chairman of the Awards and Scholarship Committee, have undergone numerous medical procedures, diagnostic tests, hospital stays, and treatments. They’ve also experienced a profound shift in perspective—one that comes with facing serious illness. Their journeys continue to be marked by courage, resilience, and a commitment to transparency.
Greg Noll has been receiving care at Penn Hospital in Philadelphia for over a month. He is currently being treated for a persistent and recurring infection of unknown origin. Until the infection is resolved, he cannot return home to continue his recovery. At this time, Greg is unable to respond to calls or messages, but your well wishes and expressions of support mean the world to him and his family. Greg remains steadfast and brave—continuing to fight with remarkable determination. His wife, Debbie, and family deeply appreciate the outpouring of compassion, encouragement, and positive energy.
Mike Hildebrand recently shared hopeful news: his PSA (Prostate-Specific Antigen) levels dropped from 11.3 six months ago to 0.16—effectively undetectable. All additional indicators suggest minimal radiation damage. As Mike said, “Little victories lead to big victories. This is a big victory.” He remains cautiously optimistic as he prepares for a new round of testing later this month, hoping for continued progress or even better results.
